Timi Adegunwa

Timi Adegunwa is a risk management professional specialising in governance, risk, and compliance, with extensive consulting experience across banking, oil and gas, utilities, and government, having worked in highly regulated environments where she builds resilience and navigates complex regulatory demands.

She is the founder of Black and Scot and Black Tech Scotland, pioneering initiatives advancing inclusion, innovation, and career progression for Black professionals in Scotland's technology sector. Through mentorship, skills development, and strategic partnerships, she champions pathways into tech, cyber, entrepreneurship, and leadership, particularly for women of colour and underrepresented communities.

Her collaborations include work with the Scottish Government, Brand Scotland, Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeenshire Council, Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Innovation District, CIISEC, ISC2, Cisco Networking Academy, BBC Scotland, Sky, BlackRock, Shepherd and Wedderburn, and Equate Scotland, delivering programmes that drive both business impact and career advancement.

Timi has participated in the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in 2024, 2025, and 2026. Her work has been recognised with the AFBE Mentor of the Year Award in 2025, the Scottish Cyber Award in 2023 and 2025, the Most Inspiring Woman in Cyber award in 2023, and the Scottish Parliament Local Hero Award in 2021, as a recipient of which she met the late Queen Elizabeth II. She has also been named among the Top 100 Black Scottish individuals and the Top 100 Africans in Business, UK, in 2024.
